Prenatal & Postpartum

Yoga for Fertility

Offering one-on-one and small group classes in beautiful Marin County as well as virtually online.

Private classes offer a safe and supportive environment for new students to experience yoga and seasoned practitioners to explore new boundaries in their practice. Each class is customized to meet the student's needs on that particular day using traditional yoga postures in combination with functional movement and mobility exercises. Classes can center around specific areas of the body in need of attention, categories of poses or demystifying certain asanas. Areas of injury, tension and/or discomfort are addressed with specific poses, alignment, tools and techniques including the use of Therabands and other props.

Prenatal and Postpartum classes are one-on-one, allowing mama time and space to be present with the numerous changes during this fertile time of transformation. These nurturing classes support and help prepare a woman for birth and beyond.

In Yoga for Fertility classes, yoga asana (postures) and pranayama (breathwork) are applied to help alleviate stress and tension as well as bring a healthy supply of blood and prana (life force energy) to the womb and associated organs of reproduction.

Dana deserves my highest recommendation. I have studied yoga for 40 years with many teachers and have never found anyone who comes close to her abilities. I frequently leave my sessions feeling that my body has been reshaped and rejuvenated. My twin, who is a vascular surgeon, was beginning to get severe neck and shoulder pain from the hours she spent bending over the operating table. Dana has provided complete relief. She is also a warm and a kind person who is a joy to be around.

Dana is a masterful teacher. She combines an eagle eye for body movement and positioning with a gentle manner of correction and constant encouragement. She often pushes me toward the limits of my potential but never goes over. Her method and philosophy centers on breathing, which not only helps with yoga but in everyday life generally. As a bonus, after only a few lessons I gained enough flexibility to drive it 10-15 yards further on the golf course!

I’ve been practicing with Dana for over 3 years now and no two classes are alike. Each one is tailored to what’s going on with my physical (and emotional) state and needs that day. I always leave our sessions feeling more grounded, stronger, and more flexible. She is very insightful and avoids being dogmatic in her approach. And best yet, Dana has a lovely presence- her energy puts you at ease allowing you to be in the moment. Practicing yoga with Dana is the best self care you can give yourself!
